First family trip to the pool
I cannot believe we took our first family trip to the pool this morning and it's almost August. It was nice though because no one else was there. It was Addison's very first time in a swimming pool. Zachary took swimming lessons about a month ago so he's able to jump off the side and go under water for quite a long time. Here are a few pics from this morning.

Todays Modeling Session
Seriously
Okay I know that I am totally and completely biased but I think Addison's Robeez picture was sooo darn cute. I cannot believe she didn't get at least third place! I got an email today and it showed the three winners of the contest. The only thing I can think of is that these three pictures are all outside and it was a "summer smiles contest." I mean these kids are cute but not cuter than Addie's picture! See for yourself
Here's her picture again. I'll keep trying because they have a winner each month. I'll just have to be more creative. If you keep scrolling down on the web page you can see the previous monthly winners. The one of the little girl up in the air is darling.

Bittersweet
For those of you who know me well this will not surprise you. For those of you who don't know me as well may think I'm weird but.....I fully admit to being a Harry Potter freak. I've read all the books at least three times each. Friday night at midnight I took my place in line at the local Wal-Mart to get my copy of the seventh and final book of the series. There were at least 100 people in front of me and some people had their little ones with them. One little girl behind me had a lightening bolt painted on her forehead. So cute. Anyways, after I got my book I stopped and got Jason and I a coke icee (another addiction of mine) so I could have a little caffeine to help me stay awake. By 12:45 am I had my PJs on and was curled up in bed reading. So excited. Now for those of you who don't read the Harry Potter series you will think I am a total loser. Even those who read the books may think I am a total loser for getting so excited about it. But it's been two years though since the sixth book was released and I read that in three days. Needless to say I had been waiting a long time. I read until 5 am. Addison needed feeding at that time so I fed her and finally turned in for the night. Addison got up about eight or so so I had like 2.5 hours of sleep. I probably would have been exhausted but I wanted to get up to start reading again. Luckily for me Martin and Linda had asked to take Zachary with them to the beach that weekend so I knew I'd be able to read quite a bit that day. So in between taking care of Addison and doing some house chores I read throughout the day. I did take a break to go to dinner and a movie (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) with my husband. I didn't read to late that night but picked the book up as soon as I got up on Sunday. I finally finished it Sunday night about 10:30. It took me less than 48 hours to read a book that was 759 pages long. The book was really good and I enjoyed it immensely. I can't wait to read it again once Jason is done with it. I know most of you think I am crazy but you should really try reading the series if you haven't. They are so much fun. I can't wait to read them to Zachary & Addison one day!

Our weekend at the bay
We had a wonderful time at the bay this past weekend. Even though the 4th of July is on a Wednesday this year, Martin and Jason took off Monday for the holiday instead. On Friday Linda and I took the kids and left late morning to try and avoid some of the traffic. Martin, Jason and Simon came on the 5:00 ferry and John, Sarah and Dixie came on the 6:30 ferry. We grilled hamburgers and had corn on the cob (sooo yummy) for dinner and had a very
nice evening. On Saturday Jason, Martin and John got up very early and went fishing. They went 58 miles out. Martin says it's the clearest water he's ever seen around these parts. Said it was like Caribbean water. They could see like 60 feet down. They caught 24 Dolphin (Mahi Mahi - not the porpoises) and John caught a large Amberjack. I'm so glad they got to go and really enjoy themselves. A lot of times they'll go out far and only catch a few. So this was a very successful trip! Later that day Jason, Martin, Zachary and I went out on the little boat and took this inner tube thing that we tied to the back of the boat. Jason and Zach went on it first. Zachary enjoyed it but once was enough for him. He'd much rather swim with his daddy and Pop. I tried it as well. I will pass on putting pictures of that in here.

Saturday night they all enjoyed the catch of the day while I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken. On Sunday John, Sarah and Dixie headed home in the morning and Martin got out this huge "funstation" blow up thing he had bought a while back. It is really neat. I could seriously take a nap on there sometime. Zachary enjoyed it some but like I said before he'd much rather be swimming in the water. Addison even got in her swimming suit but opted for a nap on the pier with Grandmama.
On Monday we got in the big boat and drove it to Lulu's for lunch. It is Jimmy Buffett's sisters restaurant that is in Gulf Shores. It took about 50 minutes to get down there by boat but was a lot of fun. Addison slept on the way while Jason and Zachary sat up at the front of the boat and took in the view. Lunch was great. It has a sandy play area for kids and a beach volleyball court. All of the walls open up so that the restaurant is nice and breezy. It's a really cool place.
