Our Memorial Day Weekend

We went to the bay for Memorial Day weekend. We got there Friday afternoon and Zachary wanted to immediately go out and play in the sand. Even though it was blazing hot Jason is such a good dad that he went out there with him to build sand castles.

Saturday morning we took Addison in the water for the first time. She's been in a swimming pool but not in the salty bay water. She loved it. Didn't mind the saltiness of the water at all. She seriously thinks she can swim on her own because she really didn't want to be held that much.
Later in the day Martin and Jason helped Zachary build some more sand castles. This is only part of them. I don't know if you can tell how red Zachary's face is. It amazes me how little kids don't even think about how hot they are. He was so red and sweaty and it didn't phase him a bit. Jason talked him in to getting buried.
On Sunday Martin took the four of us out in the boat to Sand Island. It was Addison's second trip in the boat. The first time she was a infant and slept most of the time in her carseat (we drove the boat down to Lulu's for lunch one day). She really enjoyed Sand Island. We put her in this floatie and it would have been perfect for her to just float around and take in the sights but she did not want to stay in it. She saw her brother having so much fun with Daddy and Pop that she wanted out of it. Her hair looks super greasy because she won't keep a hat on her head so we had to slather her head up with sun tan lotion.
Unfortunately I must have touched the lens with a wet finger so a lot of the pictures from Sand Island are smudged in the middle.

Happy Birthday Robin!

Tonight some friends and I celebrated my dear friend, Robin's, birthday. We went to The Dock to have dinner and drinks. Robin is one of the nicest and friendliest people I know. We have played tennis together for the past two years and I am so thankful that I have had the pleasure of getting to know her. We actually played doubles together at state last year and won! Unfortunately our spring season has ended for this year but I know we will get together over the summer and play (you better call me Robin!). As you can see on my arm I have a nice bruise from our match last Tuesday. I was going for a ball and ran into the fence. I don't think I got the ball back over the net so it definitely wasn't worth getting a gigantic bruise on my arm. Luckily I'm tan so it doesn't show up as bad.

Z's Picnic & Swim Lessons

Zachary had his end of school picnic on Monday morning. It was a beautiful day for it. He had such a good time. I was surprised he actually sat down to eat something since he was having so much fun. Although it probably helped that his "best friend" Gavin was sitting next to him. Zachary & GavinHis teacher, Ms. LeeHis teacher, Ms. DebbieThat afternoon he started his "Tadpoles" swimming lessons at the club. I thought there was going to be like six kids in the class. It was chaos. Apparently they had to combine two of the classes since a child had had "an accident" (of the brown kind) in the pool and all of the kids had to stay out of it while they shocked it. There were so many kids. Luckily there were lots of teachers. Hopefully today it will go a little bit more smoothly. Zachary seemed to enjoy it. I know it helped that his cousin, Hutson, was there with him. Zachary is on the end on the left hand side.

I'm so glad my cousin, Amy, was there to help me watch Zachary because Addison was all over the place. She would walk right into the pool if I let her (just like her brother was at this age). She chilled out for a little while in this floatie thing but she kept trying to dive over the side of it.
This is a suit that Linda found for her. It is so darling, I love the back of it.

Zachary's Lunch Bunch Program

Today we got to go see Zachary's 'Lunch Bunch' music program. Lunch Bunch is when the kids stay after school until 2:30 (normally I'd pick him up at 11:30). He went twice a week. They have lunch, play outside, do games and also have music time. At the end of the year they have a program to show all of the parents, grandparents, etc. the songs they have learned. He doesn't look quite as freightened as he did at the Christmas program.I'm not sure the name of this song but he looks so precious dancing.

When standing in between these two girls he sure does look short (they are a year older though). The little girl to the right must have been sitting in a smaller chair because in the first picture she looks like she is shorter than him. This is Ms. Joy, one of his teachers. He absolutely loves her. I know he is going to miss her over the summer along with his other two teachers.

Tonight we took Jason's good friend, Keith, out to dinner at a new restaurant called The Dock. Keith has just gotten back from his second tour in Iraq. We are very happy he is home safe and sound. Martin and Linda took care of the kids while we were there and when we went to pick them up Addison had on one of Zachary's old t-shirts. I thought she looked darling.

a whole lot of randomness

This is going to be a collage of pictures. I like to get a picture of Addison everytime I put her in a new outfit (which is quite often as you can see). That is part of the fun though of having a little girl. Getting to dress her! As you can see from the first picture she is walking now. She started around her first birthday and is really walking every where now. She can even stand up on her own. Her favorite thing to do is follow Zachary into the playroom. I always hear him say, "Addison, no ma'am. You need to go in the den." He probably wouldn't mind her being in there but she likes breaking apart his train tracks. Here's Addie pushing her pink car. It even has a car phone!

Sarah and I have decided to teach Sophie and Addie how to do laundry so we don't have to do it anymore. This was their first lesson.
already gossiping Zachary's new favorite thing to do is to play the "new Mario game." It's Mario Cart on the Wii. As you can see you put the controller in this steering wheeling and you actually turn it. At first all he wanted to do was crash but now he's starting to drive on the track a little more. Jason's protege in the making.

The other day I got an email from my cousin Brenda with a bunch of funny cat pictures on it. I absolutely love cats so I found them very funny. I wanted to share my two favorites with you. For those of you who aren't cat people, shame on you, cats are awesome!

A day late and a dollar short

Well it's actually a lot more than a dollar short, more on that later. Yesterday was our 7 year anniversary! I cannot believe it's been 7 years since we got married in Austin, TX. I remember it rained in the morning and then cleared up right before the wedding started. Someone told me that day that if it rains on your wedding day you will be rich. To bad Mississippi doesn't have the lottery. Last night Martin & Linda came over to watch the kids so we could go out to dinner. We went to, Jia, which is a Japanese restaurant (Teppanyaki/Hibachi) in one of the local casinos (Beau Rivage). One of my favorite places to eat. We got a table all to ourselves so we got a little extra food. It was so incredibly good. After dinner we decided to gamble with the little bit of money we brought. We walked all over trying to find the 25 cent Wheel of Fortune only to find out they had changed it to dollar Wheel of Fortune. So I played the 50 cent one. I turned 20 bucks into 80! That gave us enough to play the cheapest Blackjack table. We really want to find a $5 table but they didn't have any. So we opted for the single deck $10 table. We made a fairly good run of it. At one point we were probably up like fifty dollars. But we were having fun so of course we ended up losing $100. All in all we only lost $4o of our own money (since I had won $60). After Blackjack we sat down at one of the bars so I could finish my drink. They were having a promotion with girls walking around offering free t-shirts if you bought one of the Cabo Wabo margaritas for $3. It's a good price for a margarita and I wanted a free t-shirt so Jason got one. They had to take our picture holding the drink and the t-shirt so I'm sure we'll end up on their website. I had one of the girls take our picture with my camera as well. We had a great time.

My dad sent this to me and it made me laugh. This guy is great. Tom Cruise drives me crazy now. I used to like him a lot until he gave Brooke Sheilds such a hard time about postpartum and then his infamous Oprah visit. I think he's a bit looney.
