a FUN afternoon!!

First of all, I just have to say, that I absolutely love living in Bayou View and being just down the street from my sister in law, Sarah, and around the corner from my cousin in law, Amy. Amy has a son, Hutson, who is one year older than Zachary and they get along great. Most of you already know that Sarah has a daughter, Sophie, who is 5 months younger than Addison. All of them get along so well and play so good together. Sarah & Amy have really been a support system for me. We carpool all the time with the kids and it has been so great living so close to them. The weather down here has been beautiful lately so I set up one of the water slides because Hutson was coming over to play after school. I called Sarah and invited her and the kids down as well since it was such a pretty day. (Unfortunately Amy had work to do but hopefully she'll be able to make it next time!) The kids had a BLAST!! Here are a few pictures from today....
Linda got the girls these swimming suits for Christmas last year. I think they look precious in them!!The boys had so much fun playing tag and chasing each other all over the place. They went down the slide a thousand times.Sophie is good at looking at the camera for me and saying "CHEESE!" Addie does everything she can to NOT look at the camera.
Willy B even made an appearance.
Although the sun was very warm the water was freezing. Here are the boys trying to warm up.
The girls didn't really go down the slide very much but they loved the pool part!
They too had to stop every once in a while to get warm.
We had so much fun!! It's going to be a great summer with us all so close together. I can't wait!!

Pretty Plants

Spring time down here is so pretty thanks to all of the Azaleas. They are every where. This bush is in between our house and our neighbors. It's actually their bush but we get to enjoy its beauty!! I wish the Azaleas bloomed all year round.
Like I said in my last post, I hosted a Sip & See for Sarah and Will a couple of weekends ago. The flowerbeds in the new house were a complete mess. I don't think the previous owners did anything with them. I really would have liked to have ripped everything out and started from scratch but that would be expensive and time consuming. I did take out a few bushes but mainly I pulled the weeds, planted some new flowers and put pine straw down. I REALLY want to take out those huge over grown Sago Palms that are on either side of the front door but I'm not sure if I'll be able to talk Jason into that or not. They are just way too big and I think a big pot on either side of the walkway with flowers and ivy would look really pretty. Anyways, here are a few pics of what I did. Here is my beloved Hydrangea that I planted by the garage. I absolutely love Hydrangeas but it likes to be watered every day. I hope I can keep up with that all summer!
In the back flowerbed I actually didn't have to plant anything. This all grew back from what the previous owners had planted. All I did was put pine straw down.
This is a sweet pepper plant I bought a couple weeks ago. I'm hoping that I can keep it alive so Jason can enjoy the peppers!
These are a couple more shots of the Hydrangea. I was playing around with the Macro setting on my camera. I thought they turned out pretty.

Disney World - Day 2

Wow I've really dropped the ball on blogging lately haven't I. I actually have been busy. I hosted a Sip and See for Sarah & Will last weekend so I've been busy working in the flower beds and getting the house ready. I'll post pictures of my landscaping next. Until then....here is our second day in Disney World. I reserved us a table at the Chef Mickey character breakfast for Thursday morning. Unfortunately the only times we could go were either at 7:15 (way too early) or 11:15. We decided to take it easy that morning and then head on over to the Contemporary hotel where Chef Mickey is. It was a wonderful breakfast (even if it was lunch time!). The kids had a blast meeting all of the characters. When I set up the breakfast I told them we were celebrating Addison's birthday. They were ready for her with a special pin and a birthday cupcake. So here is my slide show of day 2...enjoy!
We went back to the hotel after Hollywood Studios to relax and have dinner. Jason and Zachary ended up going back to the Magic Kingdom to ride Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain. Addie and I were pooped out so we just went to bed. It was definitely a fun day! On Friday we went to Epcot. Stay tuned.....

We had a wonderful time in Disney World. We took Zachary out of school three days before his spring break. I know it sounds crazy but the prices were so much cheaper the week before his spring break than during. We drove down after school on Tuesday and stopped in Gainsville for the night. We got up the next morning and were at the hotel by 10:30. We stayed at the Polynesian again. We absolutely loved it the first time and it really is the easiest place to stay with young kids. We couldn't check in yet so we left everything in the car and hopped on the monorail to go to the Magic Kingdom. Here are a few pictures that I took the first day.

Stay tuned for Day 2! We had breakfast with some of the characters and then headed over to Hollywood Studios!
