Princess Addie

Last Sunday was Addison's 3rd birthday. Can you believe it! She is THREE!! Our little princess is growing up fast. We celebrated her birthday in Disney World. Not a bad place to celebrate!! For her birthday Grandmama & Pop gave her a basket of dress up clothes. We went to the office this afternoon and this is the outfit she wanted to wear. I think she is just as pretty as Snow White!! I will post some pictures of Disney World as soon as I can. I took 554 pictures so I am going through them all to narrow them down. I'll probably post day by day so be looking for Day 1 real soon....
Happy Birthday Miss Addison Lilly!!!

More house pictures

A while back I took some pictures of our new house. It's been a while but I've finally taken a few more. The first two are of Jason's new "Man Room." It is a wee bit smaller than the old house but I think it's a great room. It's located right off the kitchen area and the kids can run in and out of it while Jason and I are in there. The room has wonderful windows along two of the walls. In the summer it will be nice to be able to look out over the backyard while the kids play back there.
Here is the guest bedroom that I have had a lot of fun decorating. It's still not completely done yet. I have to hang some art on the walls. The lamps are so pretty. I should have taken a picture with them on. There is a pattern on the shade that casts a very pretty shadow. The walls are a warm grey. I think most people thought I was crazy when I said that's the color I was painting it. I will admit to be skeptical myself as I was painting but now that it is done I love it.
Again, I desperately need to put some art on the walls. But that takes time to find the right pieces.
Here is a chair that I got from Linda. It's a maroon color so it doesn't go with the room but I am trying to find a white slip cover for it. In the mean time I have draped an old white comforter over it. I have the blanket that my cousin, Molly, knitted Addison when she was born draped over the back of the chair. The colors are absolutely perfect with the walls! As you can see the tiny guest bathroom has not been painted yet. I actually bought the paint but haven't done it yet. It's going to be a very light blue to go with the pillows on the bed and the towels hanging up.
Here is the dining room again. I've added a few things to it. Still not completely done. I need to take down the awful valance that the last home owners have left and put up some drapes.
I just added those mirrors that are on either side of that doorway.
There is a chair in the corner that I'm not planning on leaving there. I'm just not sure where to put it yet. I think some day I may put a plant there.
Here is a picture of the 1/2 bath. It's kind of hard to see. Small rooms are hard to take pictures of!
Here is the kids bathroom. I was going to paint it (and still may some day) but for now it's just the same color as the rest of the house.
I had this print in the playroom at the old house but I thought the colors went perfect with the shower curtain. I put up the "Splish, Splash, I was taking a bath" on the wall. Wish I had put it up a little bit higher! Oh well.
Here is Zachary's room. Still not complete. I want to put a tall bookcase to the right of his nightstand. And then a comfy chair for him to read in the corner where his train table is. I love his furniture we picked out and the bedding.
And last but not least is Addison's room. This is one of the few rooms I did paint. She decided to pose in the pictures. I found the bedding first and then picked the green for the walls from it. We switched to a big girl bed when we moved and the only time she has gotten out of it is the first night. She got up once and I said, "absolutely not" and she hasn't done it since!!
I think her kitchen set looks precious in her room.
Hope y'all have enjoyed the tour. Everyone is welcome to come visit and see it in person!!

Introducing.....William Burkett Rollins

I cannot believe I have not mentioned my beautiful nephew, Will, who was born a month ago! I did not get to go to the hospital to see him because I was sick. It was torture seeing pictures and knowing that it would be a while before I got to hold him. William Burkett Rollins was born February 8th at 12:41 pm. He was 7lbs 8oz and 20 inches long. He is very healthy and one gorgeous baby. This morning, Addison and I, went over to Sarah's house so the girls could play and so I could take some pictures of Will.

And so I am proud to introduce Mr. William Burkett Rollins

Thing 1 and Thing 2

So this week was Dr. Seuss' birthday. All week long at school they have been celebrating this in different ways. Today was a parade and anyone that dressed up in something that has to do with the Dr. Seuss world actually got to be in the parade. Amy said that she had an idea to create Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes for Zachary and Hutson and I thought this sounded like a great idea! So this is what the boys looked like when they arrived at school this morning...
Thanks, Amy, for making up the costumes, they look great!

Photography Class

I have been to my photography class for two weeks now. I really like the instructor and I think I will get a lot out of it. The only real problem with it is the fact that we are in a high school so when she teaches us something and then asks us to go out and takes some pictures we are very limited on interesting things to take pics of! This week she talked about perspective and taking the picture from different points of view. She mentioned the Worms Eye View, Our View, and Birds Eye View. Here are my pics...
Worms Eye View
Normal View (my view)
Birds Eye View
Like I said...not very exciting things to take pictures of. Although I did like how my worms eye view turned out. She also asked us to break off into groups of threes to take pictures of what looks like someone standing on someone else's hand. Lee & Lee were in my group and here's our picture...
Then I had the idea of making it look like Lee was punching the other Lee in the face when in reality her fist wasn't near the other woman's face. We all got a kick out of this picture.
I'm really excited about this class. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer and the grass and trees to get green so I can go outside and practice some shots.
