Our weekend

We had a nice weekend. The weather was great (well at least Saturday it was). Addison tried out the pool she got for her birthday from my parents. I must say she looks beautiful in it.We got out the slide that Jason bought last summer. Zachary had a blast on it. Last year his legs were a little too short to climb up the back by himself but this year he could do it easily.
Addison loves playing the clubhouse.
Over the past couple months Jason has been teaching Zachary all about space and the planets. We are proud to say he can name all of them. Don't know many four year olds that can name all of the planets! He knows which ones are cold and which are hot. Which are small and which are farthest away from the Earth. Every night they go on an adventure in his room before bedtime. They put on their helmets and climb into the rocket ship (Z's bed) and blast off to two different planets and look for treasure. I really should set up the video camera so Zachary can look back on it. My point in telling you all of this is so you will know why I took these next pictures. Later that day (Saturday) while I was running and Addie was napping Jason drew the planets on the sidewalk with chalk. Zachary could name all of them just by looking at the drawings. Jason says it's because of his mad chalk drawing skills. I must admit they are pretty good! I thought I would share a few.....
These three are the Milky Way, a Black Hole, and something else (I can't remember).
Here is a shot of Mars that Zachary took himself. Made me laugh because his cute little foot is in the picture.
And lastly I wanted to share a picture from today of our beautiful boy. This was taken right before we left for a birthday party for one of his classmates.

Have a great weekend!

I know I haven't been posting much lately. We've been busy I guess. The weather has been really nice so we are spending a lot more time outside. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Bubble Beautiful

I had to take some more pictures of Addison in this darling smocked bubble outfit. She is just too precious in it. My friend, Amanda, gave me the shoes at a baby shower before Addison was born. She can finally fit in to them. Aren't they just so sweet?!

Clean up time!

Yesterday I informed Zachary that it was time to clean up the playroom. This is how the conversation went....

"Zachary, it's time to clean up the playroom."

As I walk into the kitchen to put something away I hear him say....

"Addison, it's time to clean up the playroom."

As I am picking up the playroom he (like always) starts playing with a toy and stops helping. So I say....

"Zachary you have to help me clean up the playroom. It's not time to play with your toys."

His reply......

"No Momma, you have to do it yourself."

Our trip to the zoo

Zachary is on spring break this week and I wanted him to do some fun stuff while he was off. Jason and I took him to the New Orleans zoo on Wednesday. (Thanks Linda for watching Addison all day!!) It's a pretty nice zoo and the weather was great so we had a really good time. Our first stop was to see the elephants and Zach got to pet one. Not the best picture of him but you get the idea.
We took the wagon thank goodness because there was a lot of walking. Z's little legs would have given out half way through it.
Obviously I'm not going to put a picture of all the animals we saw but this little turtle made us laugh. Apparently he was really comfortable stretched out like that. Either that or he was stuck.Zachary wanted to ride the carousel. Of all the animals he could have picked from to ride on he chose the bench. Go figure.
His favorite was the Safari Ride pictured behind him. I went on it with he and Jason the first time. It was pretty lame by our standards but Zachary thought it was so cool. He kept saying he wanted to go again so he and Jason went a second time.
He also wanted to go on the "train." it was basically a bunch of carts being pulled around the zoo. Gave us a chance to sit down for a while though. Here he is making his "choo choo" sound. How would you like to meet this guy in the jungle.
The Orangutans were my favorite. They were the most animated of all the animals (which is to say they were awake). Some family off to the side were throwing sticks at them. Not to hurt them but to make them think they were throwing food. This was the Orangutans reaction. Kinda looks like the bottom one was given them the finger. I wouldn't blame him. There was one other guy that was walking around tearing up a cardboard box and dragging a tshirt behind him. When I saw him I realized it was Jason and made him put his shirt back on. ;-)I wanted to stick these two pictures in here. Addison is wearing her first bubble smocked outfit. I think she looks precious. Just wish Z's eyes would have been open!

Lobsters and Crabs and Shrimp Oh My!

Friday night we went to dinner with John & Sarah to celebrate John's new adventure. He recently quit his job at Yates Construction to start his own business, Vision Constructors Inc. We know this is an exciting time for John & Sarah and we wish them the best of luck! We went to a restaurant called Jourdan River Steamer. It is about half an hour away from Gulfport but completely worth the drive. It's basically a seafood place but luckily for me they had chicken alfredo. We had a fantastic time and Jason, John & Sarah all agreed that the food was excellent.
Sarah, John & Jason all got their bibs....
I actually did have a little seafood. I've recently discovered that I don't mind boiled/steamed shrimp. These particular shrimp are called Royal Reds which are supposed to be better than just your normal shrimp. I have to admit they were pretty darn good. I had Sarah take a picture because I wasn't sure my friends and family in Kansas would believe I ate them.
We had a great time. I highly recommend this restaurant if you live down here.

Todays Modeling Session

It is absolutely beautiful here today. Addison of course looks so good in blue because of her eyes so I wanted to take some pics of her in this precious outfit I just got her.
One of her new favorite things to do is pull grass from the ground and then clap until all the blades have fallen out of her hands.

Azaleas and Splash Time Giggles

I have been wanting to go around town and take some pictures of all the beautiful azaleas that grace us with their presences every spring. It is so pretty down here this time of year. Everything is so green and colorful. Everytime I get in my car, however, I forget to bring my camera. So, I decided to put Addie in the stroller and have Zach jump on his bike and go to the entrance of our subdivision. This is what I get to see everytime I pull in. Most of the year it's just a green bush but it is so worth the month or so that we have this magnificent pink color. These bushes are all over town. Dark pink, light pink, purple, red and white.
I asked Zach to stand in front of them so I could take his picture. If I ask him to say cheese this is the face I get.
This expression made me laugh.
When we got back to the house Zachary wanted to jump in the pool. It's around 80 degrees outside so warm enough, especially for a 4 year old! I put Addison down on the ground to help him with something and she crawled over to the pool and started splashing her hands in it. Zach started splashing too and Addie laughed so hard. Next thing I know she has actually crawled in the pool. I was laughing so hard at them laughing. Zachary would live in water if we'd let him and I know Addison will be the same way. She is going to love the pool this summer.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Just wanted to share a few pictures with her in the new shoes I got her the other day.
