Happy Birthday Linda!

Last Wednesday was Linda's birthday so we all went out to Lil' Rays for dinner. It's a casual place that has good poboys (I guess) and oysters (from what I hear). I had a burger (which was good as well). We had two people taking pictures of Martin & Linda and their three grandchildren. In all of the pictures that were taken, none of them had everyone looking at the same camera at the same time. The first picture is the closest except for Addison.
We had a great time! Hope you had a wonderful birthday Linda!!

Here are some other random shots from the night.

Slideshow Time!

The other day the weather was so wonderful I got the little pool out for the kids. Zachary had fun watering my flowers and of course Addison joined in.

Lou Lou

Some of you may know that my sweet Lainey passed away a couple of months ago. She was very sick so we had to put her to sleep. I am surprised at how well I did after she passed. That particular day was very very hard for me. The day after however, I was at peace with the decision. There was no operation that could have made her better. She had a small mass somewhere around her neck that was filling her stomach with air. She wasn't able to eat or drink anything and so she would have suffered greatly had we not put her down. I loved my Lou Lou very much. I had her for 11 years and miss her every day. For Christmas Tracy gave both her and Simon shirts. I'm glad I got some pictures of her in it.
Just wanted to add a couple pictures of Simon. Animals are great to take pictures of because they stay still and I can practice on them.
This is Milky, our neighbors cat. I say that lightly because he spends most of his time at our house. With Lainey's passing it's nice to be able to pet a cat every now and then. Wish I could change his name but he knows it so I can't.

A weekend at the bay

A couple of weekends ago we went to the bay and it was warm enough to sit out and play in the sand but still chilly for a boat ride. We tried it anyways. Jason was covering up Addison and Zachary together so I ran up to get my camera. When I came back Zach had decided to get up.
Would have been such a cute picture with the two of them together!I thought this picture was funny because you can see me in the reflection of her glasses.

Sprinkler Fun

This past Wednesday Zachary's best buddy, Gavin, came over to play. This may look like child abuse to those of you in Kansas but it really was warm enough here to play in the sprinkler. Besides, I just HAD to try on Addie's new swimsuit.
Some of you may remember from a previous post that Zachary hates to have wet grass on his feet. Not sure why but it drives him crazy. I told him to stick his foot in the sprinkler....
...and of course Addie has to do everything her big brother does.

to Grandmother's house we go

Last weekend on our way to the bay we stopped in Mobile to see Memaw and Aunt Bit. Aunt Bit hadn't seen the kids since Addie was just months old. It was a very nice visit. Memaw even wore purple and white in my honor!
Addie was handing out some of Memaw's Azalea's. Course everyone just dropped them on the ground when it was time to go. Looks like she is thinking, "All that work and they just drop them!"

This flower is on the picnic table outside but I thought it kind of looked like it was on water.

Mom & Dad's Visit

A few weeks ago my parents came for a visit. I was so happy because I hadn't seen them since December. They arrived Sunday, February 22nd, in the afternoon. We had a great time relaxing and catching up that evening and all day on Monday. Tuesday was actually Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) so we left Addison with the babysitter and took Mom & Dad to Mobile, AL to go to a parade. We have parades in Gulfport (and surrounding areas) but they just aren't as good as the ones in Mobile. We saw a couple, the first one wasn't all that impressive. The second one had really neat floats. Breakfast Cereal was the theme. I'll add a slide show later of all of the floats. Here are a few shots from that day....
Zachary & Dad on the way to Mobile
Sometimes Zachary likes getting his picture taken and sometimes he does not. This day was not a picture friendly Zachary. This was all before the first parade. Just killing time until it started.
I didn't bother posting any pictures from the first parade because it wasn't that exciting. We didn't get many beads because the women in front of us were hogging them all. I did get a picture of mom in action though.
Throw me somethin' Mister!
After the first parade was over we walked around a bit. Zachary walked over to these two police officers. One of them let him press a button. Zach had no idea that it was for the siren. It made him jump when it went off. I'm pretty sure I jumped too.
Before the second parade started we ate a little McDonald's.
This picture made me laugh because Zach and I have the exact same expression on our face.
For the second parade we moved to a better spot. Here we are waiting for it to start.
Here is the slide show of all the floats from the second parade. We lucked out and walked by them before it started so they were all lined up waiting to go.

Another afternoon that week we spent outside in the backyard....
Both Zach and Addie enjoyed having Grandma and Grandpa read stories to them at night.
On their last night here we took them to The Dock. It's a local restaurant that has really yummy burgers. They had a stage set up for a band but it was empty. They did have music playing over the speakers and Addison decided to have a go on the dance floor. If you can tell, she has her hands on her hips and kept them there.
We had a great time while you were here Mom & Dad. Come back soon!!!
