Baby Carson

Last Friday I took a trip to Kansas City by myself to see my sister Angie, brother-in-law Barry, nephew Cooper, and new niece Carson. I wanted to go by myself so I could spend as much quality time with my niece and nephew as I could. I don't get to see them that often and hate that they don't know me better. I also wanted to see as many friends as possible. My first flight out of Gulfport was delayed 30 minutes and I only had a 40 minute layover in Atlanta. Thankfully my second flight was in the same concourse so I RAN as fast as I could while dragging a suitcase and made it with a few minutes to spare. I got in around 9:30 that night and got to see Carson before she went to bed. She is just precious and is such a good baby. Isn't the best sleeper at night but I'm sure that will change soon. I know Angie really hopes it does. On Saturday we just got up and hung around the house. That afternoon the Cats were playing Texas Tech so Angie and I met my friend, Tina, at a locale bar and (kind of) watched the game. It had been three years since I'd seen Tina so we really talked more than watched. Tina and I lived together my last year at K-State and had so much fun. After a little while my friend Kim came up from Lawrence. She of course had to finish watching the KU game before she could come. Yeah yeah, KU came from behind to win and K-State got their butt kicked. Tell me something I don't know.

Kim came back to Angie's with me to visit for a while and to see Carson. Kim and I grew up across the street from each other. We met in 7th grade but we didn't become friends until high school. We became the best of friends and have so many fun memories. My parents drove into town after they witnessed the beating that took place in Manhattan. I'm so glad I was able to see them as well. Sunday morning my friend Mauri came over with her two kids, Katie & Jonathan. I could kick myself for not taking a picture of the three of them. It was so good seeing you Moe! Mauri and I were the best of friends in high school as well. It was normally me, Kim & Mauri. It was beautiful weather in Kansas City. Cooper took advantage of it and got some mowing done.
Mom brought Carson out on the front porch to enjoy the weather as well. The rest of Sunday was spent just hanging out together. Mom and I did manage to get a little bit of shopping in while Angie napped and Barry & Dad watched a little football. She and I both like to shop and I really miss being able to do with her. Thanks for coming up to see me Mom & Dad!! On Monday my friend Tina came over to see me again and this time brought her two month old, Elise. She is so darling, I wish I would have gotten a picture of her too. Then Angie, Carson & I met my friends Kelly and Jenni (and her daughter Sydney) at Stix, which is a yummy Japanese restaurant. We had such a good time chatting and filling our tummies way too full. After that Angie and I went and picked out some new curtains and then headed home. While Angie was out getting Cooper I decided that Carson needed to experience her first modeling session. Here is my precious beautiful niece....
When Cooper got home he got in on the action. So sweet.
Angie and her beautiful new daughter.
Thanks Angie & Barry for being great hosts! I had such a good time visiting with everyone. I missed my hubby and my two babies so I was ready to get home. Thank you Jason, Linda & Martin for watching the kids while I was gone!
