Confirmation

Tonight I had my first confirmation class at our church, St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Until recently I had been a little reluctant about converting to the Episcopal faith. Not because I didn't like it but because I felt giving up being a Methodist was giving up part of who I was. Which is really silly because I've never been all that religious. When I was young I would throw a fit about having to get up to go to church. Not because I hated church but because I really loved to sleep in. But now that I'm older and have a family it is important to me that we are all the same religion. St. Mark's has just built a brand new beautifdul church not far from us. The old one was on the beach before Katrina. If you click here and scroll down a bit on the page you can see before and after pictures of the church on the beach. We had Addison baptised at the new church but unfortunately it was in a temporary "double wide" while the new one was being built. Like I said before, I've never been all that religious so I wasn't sure what to expect tonight. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed listening to Father Roberts. He's a very down to earth type of man who has a great sense of humor. Speaking comes very easy to him. Which is not surprising given that he does it so often. I look forward to the rest of my classes. I think there are either five or six in total.

Glad your class was enjoyable. I remember going to like one or two confirmation classes when I was a kid and never going back again. Thankfully, it wasn't that big of a deal in our church! :)
