Happy Birthday Honey!

Today is my husband Jason's birthday!! Happy Birthday Honey!! Jason is such a wonderful husband and an amazing father. The three of us are so incredibly lucky. He turns the big 3-4 today. (I know he would like all of you to know that he is still younger than I am.) Last night we went to dinner at Emeril's restaurant with his family to celebrate. We had a great time. Jason ordered a stuffed lobster. Biggest one any of them had every seen! I hope you have a great day sweetie!

Charity Ball

Last Saturday night we went to a Charity Ball that the Junior Auxiliary puts on every year. I have never been to a ball before so I was really excited. My sister in law, Sarah, is in the J.A. so I knew we'd at least know her and John. Turns out I knew quite a few people from tennis there. We had so much fun. It was at the Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi. We decided to stay the night so the kids spent the night with Jason's parents. (Thanks Martin and Linda!!) The place where they had it was really neat. The downstairs had tables set up and a really nice buffet. There was also a stage (this is where they hold concerts) and a great band was playing that night. Upstairs there were a couple hundred items you could bid on (silent auction) so we enjoyed looking at all of it and bidding on a few things. I actually won an autographed tennis ball of Andre Agassi. I'm hoping it's his real signature. If it's not at least the money went to charity (it's a children's charity). It was so much fun and I look forward to going again next year! Here are a few pictures from that night......

I know it looks like my husband is trying to get away from me but he's not!

John tried to get the Hard Rock sign in the back but the lights were messing up the focus. You can kind of see it though.

I think these two look a lot alike in this picture.

Addison's Christening

We had Addison baptized last Sunday. It was a wonderful day. Started out great because with the time change we got to sleep in an extra hour. Both kids slept until eight which was actually NINE! We felt like brand new people. Anyways, it was a gorgeous day out. We had Addie baptized at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She did so good throughout the service. She didn't fuss at all and didn't even cry when Father Roberts took her and dunked her head completely under water. Okay not really, he just wiped some on her head. After the service we headed to Martin and Linda's house for a wonderful brunch. Linda made everything so special. We got to enjoy their absolutely beautiful covered back patio. I wish I had pictures to show everyone because it's like a five star resort type patio! We had lots of good food and champagne as well! I really wish my family could have been there as well. Zachary and Hutson got to spend the day together and that is always fun for the both of them. I will include pics of them because they are just so cute together. Here are a few pictures from that day. Unfortunately I didn't get a really good picture of Addison in her Christening gown that Linda bought for her. It was beautiful.

Our Halloween

We had so much fun this Halloween. Zachary really got in to it. This year we had Linda and Martin come over and watch Addison while we took Zachary over to a really neat neighborhood to trick or treat. Our cousins, Chuck and Amy, had some friends who were hosting their church group to a party and neighborhood trick or treating. They blocked off the street (it was a dead end street) and almost all of the houses participated. Zach loved going up and saying 'trick or treat!' As you can see from the pictures Jason and I actually dressed up as well. Wouldn't it have been so cute if Zachary had been a pirate too! A little pirate family. Ahhh. Anyways, check out the pictures........

This is a sucker Zachary got from one of his classmates.
I think he only ate about a 1/4 of it before he gave up.

Z & A's Halloween Costumes........

Zachary actually picked out his costume this year. He is totally in to Thomas the Train now. I swear it's like crack for kids. Addie didn't have a say in her costume but I have to say she is so stinkin' cute in it!

Game, Set, Match

This weekend I played in a tennis tournament with my friend, Alicia. We played 3.0 doubles. For those of you who don't know anything about tennis this post may be a tad bit confusing to you. If that is the case, sorry. Anyways, there were only 5 teams in our bracket so that meant we would only get to play two matches win or lose. We ended up having to play the number one seeded team on Saturday and it was a really close match. We ended up winning the first set 7-5 and lost the second set 5-7. So we had to play a ten point tie breaker (the first one to ten points by two). Thankfully we pulled it out and won 12-10. I told you it was close!

Today, Sunday, we played the number two seeded team in the finals (which in my opinion should have been seeded number one). Again it was a really close match. We lost the first set 4-6 and then won the second set 7-6 and then lost the ten point tie breaker 8-10. I have to say I am really proud of Alicia and I because these two gals have played together a lot (this is the first time Alicia and I have played together) AND they are playing in the 3.5 doubles bracket as well. Not only are they playing in the 3.5 bracket, they are winning in the 3.5 bracket. And no one in the 3.5 bracket has made them go to a tie break. So even though we didn't come out victorious today we still gave them a tough time and made them work for it.

My trip to Kansas

Addison and I just got back from our trip to Kansas Monday night. We flew down last Thursday evening. It was a great time. We got to Salina early early Friday morning. Thanks Dad for driving to get us late at night!!! Poor mom had to wait until morning to get to hold Addie since she was dead asleep. That day we got to see my sister Angie, cutie nephew Cooper, my aunt Janice, uncle Gerald and my grandmother. That night I went to Manhattan to go out with some of my girlfriends from college. I stayed with my friend, Jen, who has such a beautiful house it makes me want to build a house! We went to dinner at my favorite deli/bar, Rock A Belly Deli. It was sooo yummy. While we were there the K-State band came in and played a few songs to get the fans pumped up. It was so neat. As you can see from the picture it's a pretty small place (I am at the back of the restaurant) so it was really loud. It was awesome!

I was so excited to get to hang out with these awesome ladies. From left to right: Andrea, Jen, Jenni, Me, and Angi. We had a good time, drank a few beers, and then Jen and I called it a night around eleven. Just can't party like we used to.

The weather was perfect the next day for the game. Jen offered me one of her tickets. She and her husband, Josh, have really great seats. It was an awesome day for football. To bad the Cats stunk up the field. I'm not even going to go there....we lost......end of story. Anyways, I got to see the gals again at half time plus my friends Amy, Lori, Mauri and Rhonda!

The man sitting next to me asked if we were sisters. I do think we look a like! Dad and I headed back to Salina after the game and just hung out at home the rest of the day. I'm so glad I got to spend time with my parents and Angie and Cooper. Cooper has found his gift for gab. Wish I knew what he was saying because he is certainly saying something!

On Sunday my friend, Kelly, who has started her own photography business, came over to take Addison's picture. I just got to see them online and they are soooo good! You can go to her blog and check out a sneak peek! It was great seeing Kelly again. Someday I am going to fly her down here so she can take some family pictures of us on the beach! Later that day we went out to the farm. This is where my mom grew up and where my grandmother lived until recently. Now my Aunt Jackie and Uncle Bob own the house and are busy renovating it. It was great seeing everyone and I'm so happy y'all got to meet Addison. (it was hot in the house because the air conditioner wasn't working -- that's why Addie is in just her diaper!)
Addie and I headed back to Gulfport Monday afternoon. I am so happy I got to see my family and friends. I don't have any plans to go back to KS but I'm sure I'll make it back there at least once next year. I miss everyone there so much.

Oh Happy Day!

We got Direct TV last night (late last night). I'm not even sure what time the guy left, I fell asleep. He got there around 3:30 p.m. and I know he didn't leave before 10:00. Poor guy. Anyways, I was able to get up this morning and turn on the E! Entertainment channel. Y'all don't understand how long I have been waititng for this! I watched it all the time in Austin. For some dumb reason Cable One (our lovely local cable company) got rid of E! right after we moved here. So I've been waiting SIX years to be able to watch it again. It's going to be a good day.

CORRECTION: Jason says the Direct TV guy left after midnight!!!!

Me & My Pumpkin

I know I haven't posted in a while. Sorry about that. Been busy I guess (and a wee bit lazy). I've become addicted to the TV show Heroes. So for the past few weeks Jason and I have been watching the first season on DVD (gotta love Netflix). We are recording the new season and will start watching it after we're done with the first season. This show totally rocks!! It is just as good as Grey's Anatomy. Definitely a show that guys like too.

Anyways, I am preparing to go to Kansas next week with Addison. I'm very excited to see my family and friends. I can't wait for my (extended) family to meet Addie. My friend Kelly Holder (who has started her own photography business) is going to take Addie's picture while we are there. Kelly is very talented so I am really looking forward to that. I am also going to the K-State/KU game on Saturday. It looks like the weather is going to be beautiful. SO excited.

Here's a picture of Addie in a Halloween outfit. I know she kinda looks like a boy in it but I thought the stripes were cute. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Bad Mosquito!

Okay it's really not that cold outside here (I'm still in shorts and a tshirt) that Addison needs to be dressed from head to toe but yesterday we were out in the back porch (which is screened by the way) and she got bit by a mosquito (FOUR times). I'm not sure if she has such bad reactions to mosquito bites because she is a baby or if she is allergic to them. It's a pretty bad reaction though. So today we were out there again because it was so nice out and because Z was napping and I didn't want Miss Jabber Jaw to wake him up (she already has the gift of gab). She just looked so cute in this outfit I had to take a picture.

Addie's Crocs

Addie's new trick is to stick out her tongue. She doesn't just stick it out either she kinda wiggles it in and out. It's pretty funny.

Aren't they just the cutest shoes! Wish they would stay on her feet.

Checkin' out her shoes with her tongue still out.

Zachary's first day of Pre-K

Today was Zachary's first day of Pre-K. He was so excited to put on his backpack and go to school. He goes 5 mornings a week (3 hours each day). He loves to play with "the friends" which is basically any young boy or girl near him. He's such a friendly little guy who loves to give other kids hugs. I know he's going to love going to school!!!
